Tadka Dal is a very popular dish of North India, especially in Punjab. In some areas, the Tea Party is also known as Dal Fry or Fried Dal, but in some places both are made with a special twist. If you are a graduate, single parent or student, then this tadka dal recipe is one of the easiest food to cook.
Requirements: There are a few things required before you start cooking.
- Frying Pan
- Cooking Oil
- Red Masoor Dal (Any other pulses of your choice)
- Hing (asafoetida)
- Dhaniya Powder (Dry coriander)
- Red Chilli Powder
- Jira (Cumin seeds)
- Haldi Powder (Grinded turmeric)
- Green Dhaniya (Coriander)
- Onion (optional)
- Garlic (0ptional)
Burn the stove on sim fire, put the frying pan on it. On headed frying pan put 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Put 1 gram Jira on it and wait until it starts making sparking sounds. Cut all vegetables and put in the frying pan. Now Add 1 gram Hing, 1 teaspoon Dhaniya, 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon haldi powder. Now add salt 1 Table Spoon (According to your taste).
Put 1 bowl of Red Masoor Dal in water and rinse it. Put dal in the pressure cooker add prepared mixture from the frying pan in the pressure cooker. Now add 2 bowls of water in the pressure cooker. Close the lid of the cooker and then let it cook for almost 15 minutes (or 3 whistles). Close the stove gas and wait for 20 minutes for steam to pass. Open the lid of cooker pour dal in a bowl. garnish with green dhaniya and enjoy your tadka dal.
